Gen-la Kelsang Thubten, international meditation teacher, visits Barcelona.
Meditations of Avalokiteshvara and teachings of Universal Compassion
For his visit to Barcelona, Gen-la Thubten, is offering very special teachings and showing us how to integrate them into our daily lives.
During this retreat we will have the opportunity to find the deeper meaning behind the essential practise of the training of the mind –Lojong in Tibetan-. These teachings are based on the instructions of the NKT Fall International Festival and the Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rimpoché book Universal Compassion. The practise of the training of the mind is a method with an exceptional power to overcome our failings and especially our egotistical mind and self esteem , which ill help to obtain a profound realisation of the bodhichitta.
Of all Dharma realizations, bodhichitta is supreme. This profoundly compassionate mind is the very essence of the Bodhisattva’s training. Developing the good heart of bodhichitta enables us to perfect all our virtues, solve all our problems, fulfill all our wishes, and develop the power to help others in the most appropriate and beneficial ways.
REFERENCES · During this retreat-course the teacher will follow the teachings of the book: Universal Compassion by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Bring it along if you own it , if not it is on sale in the KMC in Barcelona.
“Just as every part of a medicinal tree – the roots, trunk, branches, leaves, flowers, and fruit – provides medicine and is useful in curing disease, so every part of the instructions on training the mind can cure the mental disease of the delusions. Ordinary medicines can cure only physical disease, but the panacea of training the mind cures
sicknesses of both body and mind.”

Universal Compassion, Inspiring Solutions for Difficult Times
The heart of Buddha’s teachings is unconditional love and compassion. In this inspiring explanation of the popular Buddhist poem Training the Mind in Seven Points, Geshe Kelsang reveals powerful and far-reaching methods for us to develop these altruistic states. Ancient meditative techniques that have been tried and tested for centuries are brought alive and made relevant to our everyday experiences.
Also included is a practical explanation of how we can transform our day-to-day problems – even the most demanding and difficult conditions – into opportunities for personal and spiritual development. By pointing the way to an unchanging freedom and happiness, this immensely readable book challenges us to grow, and will have a remarkable impact on our life.
- The retreat is open to everybody , it is not necessary to have been at the Fall International Festival before.
